The Old Sydney Society

The Old Sydney Society is a non-profit, volunteer organization incorporated under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia, located in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

Our vision statement is as follows:

"The Old Sydney Society is a leading force in engaging the entire community in the appreciation of our heritage".

The mission statement of the board is:

"The Old Sydney Society collects and preserves our cultural and natural heritage and presents it in an accurate and vibrant manner".

Within the framework of an operational plan, the board has established its general objectives and priorities and organized its human, financial, and material resources to achieve them.

The board is responsible and accountable to the Society to "see to it that the (Society) achieves what it should and avoids what is unacceptable".
