Scope of Holdings

The collection consists of a fine cross-section of the pictorial history of Sydney - buildings (schools, churches and businesses), streetscapes, harbour scenes, sport teams, transportation, industry (Sydney Steel Plant), military history, civic groups and events, and people of the Sydney area.

Extent of Holdings

10 archival document boxes, 1 archival binder, 2 oversized cabinet drawers.

Highlights

Photographs by well known Sydney studios including Dodge, Wheeler and Abbass, as well as albums donated by local photographers.

Finding Aids

Photographs are accessible by subject. A database is available.

Fees & Services

Researcher Services

The museum responds to research inquiries. Fees are charged after the first half hour. Fees quoted upon request.

Duplicating Services

Photocopying services are available at 25 cents per page. Photographic reproduction is available at $5 per negative and prints at cost, depending on the size; fees quoted upon request. A handling fee of $5 is charged.

Publication Fees

Fees for scholarly/education purposes are waived. Fees for other uses quoted upon request.
